In 2003, I purchased a new
Minelab GP-3000 and put in many hours with not much luck,
but a few. Then in March of 04 I went out and found another
on my second day. Maybe beginners luck I thought, but I
sure was working hard for what little bit I found. All the
time I was thinking, “I must be missing something to this”
while fighting the GP-3000 and all the sounds it made. At
times it was as noisy as possible and I was ready to get out
the reliable XT18000. Then one day while I was going
through the forums I stumbled across Gerry's Metal Detectors
in Boise, Idaho (Who does actual Hands on in
the Field training) and decided to get the three day lessons
that he offers. What an eye opener!!! Gerry took the time
to show me how to correctly set up the GP, listen to good
targets, coil control, ground noise and different sounds
that you hear, plus much more. The lessons he gave was
worth every penny and now with the amount of success I am
finding gold at, I have decided that my wife, Michelle, will
get the same. I think the BEFORE and AFTER picture speaks
for itself. On the left side is all the gold I found since
the purchase in 2003 and on the right is all the gold I
found since Gerry’s Field training in Summer of 2004. I am
now finding smaller gold that I was missing and deeper
larger gold nuggets that I now know what to listen for as
well.
Not to mention all the new
friends I have made.
Thanks Gerry, for helping me
with the “In the Field Hands on Training” that I now know I
needed for some time.
