Gold in Quartz Specimen
weighs .840 troy oz.
It is a little over an 1" in height,
a tad wider than 1"
and approximate. 3/4" thick.

This rigid white quartz and sparkling gold specimen
was born into my world on a beautiful spring day in
the Outback desert of Northern Nevada on Sunday,
April 22nd 2001. I was pushing Minelab's newest deep
searching gold detector, the GP Extreme and an after
market Coiltek 14" mono coil.
Well no big story here to tell of any amazing
depths, because this golden eye baby with milky
white hair was only an inch below the surface in
some soft silicon sand and small pea gravel mix, at
the edge of a rugged wash running the base of the
desolate desert floor.
To date, this is my best gold in quartz specimen.
but who knows, with a little luck from Mother Nature
and hard time spent behind a quality gold detector
and I may get lucky again some day and find another
golden baby. Everyone likes to show pictures of
their babies, so here is one of mine.
Good Day,
Gerry
