Explorer-II Finds

When I am not chasing gold nuggets, I am looking for older coins. Finally the sun came out, the snow has melted and the ground thawed some after lunch. So I grabbed a detector (I have many to choose from) and went to an old site that has produced many Barbers in times past.

Here is what I was rewarded for my efforts.

I realize it is not gold, but that will be here in a couple weeks. I hope anyway that I find some.

Here is the back side of a Barber dime as I pull it from the ground.

Here is a quick clean in the mouth (I don't recommend you to do that though. Taste like dirt.)

Here is the front side after a quick mouth wash. A 1912 Barber Dime is the date.

Here are the 3 silver dimes I found at the site.

A close up of the three coins shows that there is a 1912 barber Dime in pretty good shape with decent detail. A 1916 Barber Dime that has been pretty worn and is good shape. A 1920 Mercury dime that has shown some wear as well.
Well at least I didn't get skunked.
