Well I finally
made it back and decided I better get my rear in gear and
put a few photos on the forum for everyone to view. We were
detecting the well known and famous Rye Patch, NV. The exact
same place that we have been detecting for many years.
Weather was not on our side and we really had a lot of cold
and wind but Saturday (the last day for most of us) was
sunny and a bit warmer. That was all we needed for a good
attitude change and the gold gods were with us. Total pieces
of gold that I know of were 44 nuggets found with a variety
of detectors. Fisher Gold Bug-2 was the most popular, with a
Whites GMT, a couple Minelab Eureka Gold's, two Minelab
SD-2200d's and then my own GP-3000 of course. Each of these
machines did find gold and everyone except 1 person scored
at least 1 nugget. The biggest was a 4.3 gram that I dug up
at 14" with the GP-3000 and a Nugget Finder Coil. Hopefully
our next adventure down there will be warmer and the gold
gods even more generous. Have fun viewing the reading. |

Here is camp.
Its dry with no water but it works. Even the 33' Motor Home
can get out there with no problem. Majuba is in the
background.
