Miners Do a Clean Up- 2005
We try and get the Miners to do a clean up
on one of the 2 weeks that I do so that you
folks can see how they work. This year
the 2 man crew worked 5 days and found about
45 ounces of gold. It was not a great
week but not a bust and in fact Doug (the
owner) was hoping for more than that.
There is still plenty of areas for them to
mine and us to detect at Ganes. I
would expect that they have another 10 years
left.

The smaller trammel that they use to run the
concentrates from the large trammel.
They run about 2/3 of a 5 gallon bucket through the
system.

The
back of the trammel where the rocks and larger
material comes out.
On
occasion a larger nugget will come out this side.

The
smaller nuggets and fine gold getting caught in
the tray beneath the trammel.
This gets rinsed into a large plastic tub.

The
plastic tub that holds all the fine gold, small
nuggets and what they call concentrates or heavies.

Brass
classifiers that separate the size of gold.
The top one is the largest and each one underneath
that has the smaller screens.
The bottom one is where the fin gold gets caught
into.
